It is designed only to give a visual indication that water properties have changed — it cannot provide precise hydrogen concentration values. Many variables in the water (minerals, temperature, pH, etc.) can affect the reading, which is why these meters are not reliable for exact measurements.
The only accurate way to measure dissolved hydrogen is through gas chromatography in a laboratory setting.
That said, this meter is a helpful tool to see whether your hydrogen water device is functioning and producing visible change. Comes with batteries and ready to use.
